After my last post, I realized its been a little while since I last did a nail polish-related write-up, and even longer still since the last time I did a creative nail polish article.
So without further ado, here is today’s creative manicure.
I was playing with the reinforcement stickers to do a traditional ruffian mani, and in the process I had a notion about putting the reinforcing circles on the other end of my nail to see how it looked.
Maybe others have tried this — I don’t claim to know it all.
Anyway, I think it ended up looking kinda cool.
The colors I used were Revlon Carbonite (to be reviewed separately later), with Orly Luxe layered over top.
I just realized I’ve never done a full review on Orly Luxe. I will do that soon, because its a great formula and a beautiful shade somewhere between 10 and 14 kt gold.
I think if I’d had some very long and thin nail art brushes, I would have taken a stab at adding a transition stripe between the two colors – I think that would’ve polished off this mani a little bit better.
As it stands though, I really like the look of this.
What do you think?

Huh. I always do half moons where I follow the lunula of my nails, but I never thought to do it the opposite way. I might have to try this, I think it looks awesome.

I’m never a fan of moon-icures, but I actually like yours! I might try this look. I think it’s subtle and cool at the same time and I’m glad you didn’t add the stripe. You don’t need it ;)

Interesting to hear that you didn’t think the stripe I mentioned was necessary – I thought this looked a bit “unfinished” as it was. But, I guess I was better off than I thought – awesome!
